What is a Gear Swap?
The Gear Swap is a large discounted gear sale where you can buy or sell new and used gear.  In short, it's a place for GREAT
DEALS!

What kind of outdoor gear can I sell at the swap?
You can sell outdoor equipment that's intended for self-propelled (non-motorized) wilderness adventure activities such as climbing,
hiking, backpacking, paddling, mountaineering, skiing and snowboarding. Examples of gear we allow include kayaks, climbing shoes,
paddles, tents, waterproof-breathable jackets, snowboards, ski boots, gaitors, crampons, vehicle sport racks, stoves, etc.

We don't allow things like motorcycles, baseball bats, guns, hunting gear, or BBQ's. Kayak fishing gear is welcome. If your
equipment is extremely out of date, dangerous, filthy, or too badly worn it may be rejected. If you're unsure if your equipment meets
our requirements, give us a call and ask at (301) 777-8724

Who sets the price for my items?
You set the price of your items. If you really want to sell your items, price it low. Cumberland Trail Connection staff is available to
assist you in pricing you items by offering their opinion.

How much commission is taken?
No fee is take if the seller agrees to take payment as store credit.  Otherwise sellers are charged a 10% surcharge
based on the final selling price.  All commissions received will benefit Broken Chains Bike Shop in Cumberland.
 No fee
is taken for unsold items. Sellers do not have to be present. CTC employees will sell your gear as well as handle payment and any
credit card transaction fees. If your gear sells, Cumberland Trail Connection will pay you the balance by check within 7 days.

When and where can I drop off my Gear?
You may drop off and register your gear (EXCEPT kayaks & canoes- see below) during store hours on Friday November
5th.
All gear that does not sell needs to be picked up on Sunday November 7th by 4:00 PM.  Any gear that is not picked up will
be donated to Good Will Industries.
